Online Lectures: What Students Want?

Last month a study by the University of Wisconsin-Madison found that “an overwhelming 82 percent of students said they would prefer courses that offer online lectures over traditional classes that do not include an online lecture component.” The study included about 7,500 undergraduate and graduate students. This article from Campus Technology points out that although this seems to be what students want, it isn’t necessarily what they’re getting. The article goes on to state, “about 60 percent of institutions do not routinely make captured lectures available to students online.” So FSU faculty, are you making your lectures available online?
