The Charles W. Chesnutt Library will have a Black History Month Poetry Event presented by Dr. Mary J. Ferguson on Monday, February 29th, at 6:00 p.m. in the J.C. Jones Board of Trustees Room on the 2nd Floor of the Library.
Dr. Ferguson’s theme is “A Mindful and Spiritual Journey.” She will be conducting a program that features readings of her poems from the second edition of her book, Just Thinking: A Bio-Compilation of Cultural Poetry (2015). Many of Dr. Ferguson’s poems have themes that were driven by her professional educational, childhood southern rural and multi-ethnic cultural experiences during her family’s military travels.
Please come out and enjoy one of Fayetteville State University’s own; Dr. Ferguson is the TIDES (Teaching to Increase Diversity and Equity in STEM) Grant Coordinator within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
This event is free and open to the campus and public. Light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Charles W. Chesnutt Library.
