Shelton Richardson joined Chesnutt Library’s IT Department in April as a Technical Support Technician. He is from Enfield, North Carolina, and graduated from Southeast Halifax High School. Shelton studied Computer Science at Fayetteville State University and is currently pursuing a second degree in Management Information Systems.
Prior to graduating from Fayetteville State, Shelton worked as a student employee in the School of Business and Economics 214 for ITTS as a Support Technician. He started working in Student Affairs as a student employee making sure the student center was clean, safe, and setup for various functions.
Shelton successfully gained full-time employment after graduation and accepted an administrative position with Student Affairs, which he had been working in since 2008 prior to joining Chesnutt Library. Students may recognize Shelton after having seen him around campus during various functions like homecoming week, rodeo week, and orientation. Shelton enjoy movies, video games, and technology; he is #TeamAndroid. Shelton is also a member of AITP.
Amy Miles joins the Chesnutt Library family as a University Library Technician in our Circulation Department. She received a B.A. in English at UNC-Greensboro. Before moving to Fayetteville, she worked at UNC-G’s library in Preservation Services rebinding and repairing books and documents. Ms. Miles also worked at the UNC-G Writing Center as a writing consultant.
She currently spends her time reading, crafting, and volunteering in orchestra classes at a local middle school. She also has a dog named Bilbo in honor of one her favorite books.
Brianna Lofton joined Chesnutt Library’s IT Department in July! She grew up in Mt. Olive, NC and attended Southern Wayne High School. Brianna recently graduated from UNC-Wilmington. While there she played three years of collegiate softball while earning her Bachelors of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Digital Arts. Ms. Lofton enjoys reading and watching movies.
Ms. LaTasha R. Jones joined the Reference Department (Interlibrary Loan) in September! She grew up here in Fayetteville and graduated from Westover High School. Ms. Jones received a dual B.A. in English and Political Science, and completed an M.A. in English with concentrations in creative and technical writing (both from East Carolina University). Prior to joining the FSU team, she worked as a Senior Writer for a federal contractor in Southern Pines and previously worked on the campus of East Carolina. Ms. Jones is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and is active with the Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter. She volunteers with the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County as a Docent, as well as with the Fayetteville Young Professionals. Ms. Jones is an avid reader and writer, maintains a blog, and her writing appears in several publications. She has two dogs and enjoys crocheting, among other creative activities.
